There's no time like the present to begin a new blog. It's fitting, as I embarked on a new journey today.
Of course, as with a lot of beginnings, a lot of preparation and planning went into it. But today I sold my first photographic product, so I can now call myself a professional photographer! I still don't know how far into this strange new world of artists and photographers I will go, but for right now, it's an exciting time of discovery and possibilities.
The blog is something I've been thinking about doing for quite some time, but just hadn't gotten around to it. I blogged for years, as a stay-at-home mom to young children. But as both they and I evolved, I found myself with less to say and more to do. I took an unplanned hiatus from writing for a couple of years, but like all things that come naturally, I'm boomeranging back to the things I'm good at.
This blog will chronicle my hikes, some of my running, my photography, and my occasional deep thought. Over all, will be my love of the mountains. Thus, "run2themountains." The mountains are my safe place, my happy place. They are where I challenge myself, achieve, work out my frustrations, find peace, and most of all, be completely myself. For something so cold and indifferent, they "get me." I really do run to the mountains every chance I get.
